WELCOME TO THE HEAVEN SENT CHOIRS!
We offer a Christian music education program designed to enrich and develop your child’s natural talent with a solid musical experience. Music fundamentals, performance, and music ministry opportunities are the primary focus of these choirs!
Come join us for a quality music educational experience within
our choirs. These choirs are a
collection of some
of the finest
young voices around
Houston: with
a love for music and ministry. The
students are regularly exposed to general music education and essentials ( such
as sight-singing [sol fege’] training), a winter and spring concert, and also
ministry opportunities at Christmas time as well as in the spring.
Your child will have a very
challenging,
yet enjoyable experience with others that will make lasting friendships and
memories for years to come.
We have a distinct program catering to the Houston and surrounding areas.
Our choral program is a formal program with an enrollment of over 100 students.
HSHC is open to grades 1-12. We currently have three choirs and an ensemble: Children’s Chorus (grades 1-5); Junior Singers (grades 6-8); Chorale (grades 9-12). The Ensemble is called Laudate and is made up of ages 15-18. It is a select audition-based group who sings at many additional events throughout the year.
Auditions
are required
to
register for Heaven Sent Choirs, however no child is refused enrollment.
Call
to
schedule your audition time. There
will also be opportunities to audition for special groups and solos throughout
the semesters. For additional
fees, there are also opportunities to audition for the TMEA Region and State
Choirs at the Junior High and High School levels.
We regularly meet on Mondays at the Free-Will Baptist Church on Veteran’s Memorial (just south of the North Sam Houston Parkway).
Children’s Chorus: 10:00 a.m.—11:00 p.m.
Junior Singers: 11:05 a.m.—12:30 p.m.
Chorale: 1:05 p.m.—3:00 p.m.
Laudate:
3:15 p.m.—4:00 p.m.
We will also
be hosting two
Choir Camps
to begin our seasons.
Chorale Camp
will be August 11-14; and
Junior Singers
will be August 14 &15. Both of these camps are
held at
the Trinity Pines Conference
Center in Trinity, TX.
Cost is $150 per person (Chorale); $70 (Junior Singers).
As with all of our choir events, parents are always welcome! These camps
give each student an
excellent opportunity
to get an advance work-out on vocal techniques, and a jump start on their music;
meet fellow
students and the directors;
as well as some of the staff (we’ll have
plenty of food
and games,
too!).
