General Information

Come join us for a quality music educational experience within our choirs. These choirs are a collection of some of the finest young voices around Houston: with a love for music and ministry. The students are regularly exposed to general music education and essentials (such as sight-singing [solfege] training), a winter and spring concert and ministry opportunities. Your child will be challenged to excel while enjoying the fruits of teamwork with friends. These are the values and precious memories your student will cherish for the rest of their lives.

Heaven Sent Choirs is open to grades 1-12. We currently have three choirs and an ensemble: Children’s Chorus (*grades 1-5); Junior Singers (*grades 6-8); and the Chorale (*grades 9-12). Laudate is an auditioned-based ensemble formed of students from the Chorale who have met a high standard of musicianship and are ages 15-18. This "select" group sings at additional events throughout the year.

Auditions are required to register for Heaven Sent Choirs, however no child is refused enrollment. The audition is simply an opportunity for Mr. Fleming to hear your child in order to assess specific part placement and overall ability. Please see Schedule of Events for dates to schedule your audition time. There will also be opportunities to audition for special groups and solos from time to time. For additional fees, there is also an opportunity for your student to audition for the TMEA Region and State Choirs at the Junior High and High School levels.

We regularly meet on Mondays at the Liberation Baptist Church on Veteran’s Memorial (just south of the North Sam Houston Parkway).

          Children’s Chorus: 10:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m.
          Junior Singers: 11:05 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
          Chorale: 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
          Laudate: 3:15 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

We will also be hosting a "Choir Camp" to begin the Fall season. Chorale Camp will be August 15-18, 2011; Junior Singers will be August 18 & 19, 2011. Both of these camps are held at the Trinity Pines Conference Center in Trinity, TX. Cost is $160 per person (Chorale); $80 (Junior Singers). Children's Chorus Day Camp will be August 22, 2011 held at the rehearsal location. Cost is $20 per person. These camps give each student an excellent opportunity to get an advance work-out on vocal techniques, music theory and a jump start on their music. They will also meet fellow students and the directors, as well as some of the staff (we’ll have plenty of food and games, too!). So, come join the fun! As with all of our choir events, parents are always welcome!
