Auditions are required to register for Heaven Sent Choirs. The audition is simply an opportunity for
Mr. Fleming to hear your child: to assess specific part placement and overall ability. Please call to schedule your audition time. There will also be opportunities to audition for special groups and solos throughout the semesters. We regularly meet on Mondays at Liberation Baptist Church on Veteran’s Memorial (just south of the North Sam Houston Parkway). Children’s Chorus rehearsal time is from: 10:00 a.m.—11:00 a.m.
Our only requirements are that the students be in attendance at the weekly rehearsals, the winter and spring concerts and the designated ministry days (one day in each semester). Children will be expected to memorize lyrics and to practice parts outside of rehearsals as necessary. Your child will usually be given a "practice CD" to help with at home practices. We encourage participation in all activities of the choir; however, other events and opportunities to sing are optional.
CHILDREN'S CHORUS DAY CAMP, August 22, 2011:
We will also be hosting a Children's Chorus Day Camp to begin our season. It will begin at the regular rehearsal site, then we will go to a off-site location to participate in a fun-filled activity (TBA)! As with all of our choir events, Parents are always encouraged to attend. The "Day Camp" gives each student an excellent opportunity to get a head start on music theory, vocal techniques, as well as a jump start on their music. They will meet fellow students and the directors, as well as some of the staff (we’ll have plenty of food and games, too!). So, come join the fun! Cost is $20 per person (includes lunch and activity).
NOTE: We will not refuse enrollment of any child due to a financial need or limited musical ability.
